Goody’s Still Going Out of Business February 13, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — frugalinfranklin @ 9:48 pm

I ran by Goody’s today, because I was already at Aldi.  They are down to 60-80% off everything.  Just about everything I saw was 60% off.  However, petite sizes were marked down to 70% and they still had quite a few left.

If you are in need of some very sturdy shelving, or you own a business and need fixtures, they are also selling some very sturdy and attractive fixtures for $50-$150.

Here is my Kroger shop for this week.  The total cost was $28.98 on a retail value of 77.27.  For a savings of 67%.  If you were worried about all the pizza rolls and Manwich I bought last week, please take note of the fish, dried beans, and produce 😉

Of course, the week I decide to start posting Kroger deals, they go and do something crazy.  As many of you know, there is a very nice new Kroger opening in Spring Hill on Wednesday.  In celebration, the Kroger in Independence Square (and I suspect all local Krogers) are honoring their grand opening prices.  Check it out:

Kroger Shred and Bar Cheese 8oz. $1.00

Bananas .28/lb.

Atlantic Salmon Filets (Farm Raised) 3.99 lb.

Dial Hand Soap .78

♥VO5 Shampoo .68

Strawberries 1.88 lb.

Asparagus 1.33 lb.

Bonus:  There are lots of Kroger executives in town for the grand opening.  All Kroger employees are on their best behavior and the stores are looking good.  This should be a great week to shop.

Kroger for the week of 2/1 February 2, 2009

I really spent big last week at Kroger.  The two real standouts that I see this week are:

Multi Grain Cheerios $1.67 (.50 Q makes them .67 a box)

Perdue Ground Turkey .99/lb

For those of you who are new to couponing and bargain shopping, .75 a box is my usual limit for cereal, so .67 is worth picking up a box or two.

The ground turkey is a definite stock up deal if your family likes ground turkey.  If you normally buy it at Aldi, you know their regular price is $1.19/lb.

I find all my Kroger coupon matchups at Southern Savers.   Be aware that Jenny lives in a different state, so the deals may vary slightly from our stores.  The coupon matches are almost always the same, but be sure to use our flier for fresh itmes like dairy, meat, and produce.

Late Addition:  Be sure to check out the yogurt deal here
